Eating Taiwanese

Today was suppose to be our 3B date, but Zemil flopped because he was grounded : (. So it just turned into a dinner date with Michelle... surprise surprise.

We went to eat at a Taiwanese cuisine called Aroma Island. I've eaten there once and thought it was pretty good and well worth my money so I decided to bring Michelle to try as well since we were both feeling nostalgic about Taiwan.

We ordered 2 main courses, spicy chicken and garlic friend rice, seafood noodle Taiwanese style and an appetizer, scallion pancakes.

The rice was the best dish. It had a nice balance taste of everything and a bit of spice in it which was the nice part. Sort of reminded me of Kimchi friend rice. If you are a person who can eat spicy foods, I would give this a go!
The noodles on the other hand was... alright. Looks plain and bland but the noodles tasted fine... just a little plain and boring. Really... "pure" is what I would call this dish in Cantonese LOL. Nothing special to it. I was expecting something AMAZINGLY LEGIT because it was "Taiwanese style" but I was sort of let down.
The scallion pancakes... tasted like scallion pancakes. Nothing special. Just onions, dough and oil.

The portions were huge... it most
likely could of fed 4 people. After and hour and a half of eating, we finished everything but the noodles which we ended up packing up to go.

Despite how full we were already, we were determined to fulfill our BR (Bubble Republic) on a Friday night mission. Michelle ordered a strawberry green tea BBT while I got a peach black milk tea BBT.

I LOVE bubble tea... but this was the first time I didn't actually finish the whole thing.
The peach one was shit. I've tried the peach black tea without the milk which tasted amazing but this one was gross. It was WAY too sweet. Felt like I could get diabetes from drinking this. The strawberry one tasted like strawberry Jell-O which was... alright I guess. But I think from now on... I'm just sticking with my usual.
